IBX CAMPAIGN
Eastern North Carolina is home to an extraordinary array of inland waterways - rivers, sounds, estuaries, and the Intracoastal Waterway - with approximately 3,000 miles of coastline. The lush landscape surrounding the waterways is dotted with towns and counties rich in history and culture, unique places that offer many new opportunities for:
- recreation tourism;
- agricultural tourism;
- heritage and historical tourism;
- eco-tourism and agri-tourism;
- sports and entertainment.
We call this region the "Inner Banks" of Eastern North Carolina.
To initiate the process of "branding" Eastern North Carolina as a diverse travel, tourism, entertainment and lifestyle destination, FoR ENC trademarked the phrases "IBX" and "Inner Banks." FoR ENC and Venture East Travel and Tourism Partnership are offering to ENC towns and counties the opportunity to promote themselves through an association as an "Inner Banks" travel and tourism destination.
WHY "IBX"?
Eastern North Carolina is surrounded by renowned brands: Tidewater/Hampton Roads; the Outer Banks; the Triangle; the Triad; the Grand Strand; the Low Country. Eastern North Carolina is the hole in the doughnut and remains an undiscovered and under-marketed paradise.
WHO'S DONE IT?
New and growing businesses interested in participating in the Inner Banks partnership will be shown how to leverage private sector investment with available public funds for facilities development, coordinated promotion and marketing, and key infrastructure development.
