Town of Hertford

Hertford is nestled on a peninsula of the Perquimans River.  A quintessential small town with tree-lined streets and historic homes, Hertford was selected as a North Carolina Heritage Tourism Pilot Community, one of just two in North Carolina, and has been described as one of the Albemarle's most picturesque and best-preserved towns.  Perquimans is home to five wonderfully quaint bed & breakfast inns.  Stroll our historic downtown Hertford and browse our shops and antiques stores.
