About Venture East

Venture East is a program of the Foundation of Renewal for Eastern North Carolina.  Our two-person staff offers support to towns and counties, entrepreneurs, and developers to focus their efforts on germinating and growing small businesses associated with travel and tourism.

A travel and tourism model for the 41-county region involves the development of a network of key sustainable destination attractions and waterfront towns that are comprised of heritage, cultural, eco-tourism and agri-tourism, related industries, and small business components.   The goal of the Inner Banks partnership is to unite all these attractions under a region brand that can be used to market the entire region as a destination. 

Member communities can enjoy the collective benefit of aggregating resources through a regional brand development strategy while retaining and developing its own niches within the brand.  Venture East works with communities to identify these opportunities and how to best development them.
